If she animated music video for âSavageâ did not reveal it, Megan Thee Stallion loves anime. Now, the Houston rapper has teamed up with anime streaming site Crunchyroll on an anime-inspired streetwear capsule collection. It’s summer for the Otaku girls, baby!
The unisex collection includes a selection of long and short sleeve t-shirts, hoodies and a canvas tote bag, all of which refer to his âSavageâ visuals.
Megan Thee Stallion’s love for the anime has been well documented over the years, both in her music (her track “Girls in the Hood” screams at the animated series Naruto) and in real life (she Photo shoot for Paper magazine last year was inspired by a popular show My hero university).
The rapper spoke about her passion for Japanese animation in an interview with Tim Lyu from Crunchyroll earlier this year. “I’m half an anime character, half a rapper,” she said on Instagram Live.
âI like the way you see a character, and it starts off, he’s not really the strongest, maybe he’s a little weak, but he has to go through all this training. You grow up with the character, âshe added. âYou see all the trials and tribulations they go through. Then you meet new people along the way who help them become the person they need to be. I apply it a lot to my life.
