Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft in Netflix’s “Tomb Raider” Animated Series

Netflix and Legendary Television announce Hayley Atwell (Captain America, Mission Impossible 7) as the voice of video game adventurer Lara Croft in the upcoming Square Enix-based animated series Grave robber global franchise.

Atwell is a Golden Globe and Olivier Award nominated British actress who will go on to star alongside Tom Cruise in the leading female role of Mission: Impossible 7. His other film credits include Julian Jarrold Brideshead revisited (2008) and The Duchess (2008), for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the British Independent Film Awards 2008. She also starred in Disney’s Christophe robin (2018) and in Blinded by the light (2019), directed by Gurinder Chadha.

In 2011, Atwell was cast over Chris Evans in the Marvel blockbuster. Captain America: The First Avenger. Her character Peggy Carter had her own show, Agent Carter in 2015, Marvel’s very first female-led spin-off. She reprized this role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), The ant Man (2015) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Atwell’s animation credits include Mittens’ voice in Peter Rabbit 2 and Zadra in 3 below, as well as reprise the role of Peggy Carter for Meeting vigilantes, video games Captain America: Super Soldier and Lego marvel avengers and, most recently, in Marvel’s animated anthology series What if…?.

Lara Croft, one of the video game world’s most iconic adventurers, is making her anime debut in a brand new series. The success of the game has led to a worldwide franchise spanning movies, merchandise, comics, and now, a sleek animated series. The most recent version of the game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, has received numerous “Best of” nominations and awards.
