Gundam Cafe serves new food and drinks from the animated series in Japan

Taste flavors enjoyed by the characters, who will serve costumed customers for a limited time!

Japan’s Gundam Cafes are on anime fans’ radar at all times of the year, but this fall there are even more reasons to visit, thanks to a new “Gundam Cafe Costume Collection” Event.

The new campaign sees a number of characters from the series dressed in Gundam Cafe uniforms, with the characters chosen by customer votes, which were collected between May 28 and June 30 of this year.

The six characters waiting for customers at Gundam Cafe Tokyo Brand Core are:

â–¼ Hathaway Noa, Shiro Amada, Amuro Ray, Quattro Bajeena, Garma Zabo and Banagher Links.

Character panels will be placed at the entrance and in front of the cashier, to give the impression that the pilots are actually working there, welcoming customers to the café.

The characters appear in different places in the cafe on a day-to-day basis to keep things interesting.

Customers not only get new looks from their favorite characters, but meals eaten by them in the series too. Unlike many themed cafes, which feature food and drink featuring anime series designs, these new menu items are actual reproductions of drinks and meals seen in the Gundam anime.

This plate contains a hot dog that looks like the one Banagher ate in episode 1, Unicorn Day (Part 1), of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. The roast beef on the side pays homage to the roast beef that Audrey ate later in the series, linking the two characters together in one meal.

The Gundam Cafe Costume Collection 2021 Autumn event will run from October 22 to November 30, with the full menu available at Gundam Cafe Tokyo Brand Core, while Gundam Square will offer the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Flash of Hathaway drinks only.

What follows character drinks come with a free coaster and will be available during the same period at Gundam Cafe Tokyo Brand Core, Gundam Square and Gundam Cafes in Odaiba and Fukuoka.

This fall is shaping up to be a mecha for the franchise, which recently unveiled its second real-life full-scale Gundam status in Tokyo.

The new limited-time event will surely be good news for fans of the anime, especially after the country’s largest Gundam Cafe, which opened in Osaka in 2019, sadly closed in March of this year. year.
